Tile has grout, grout is porous. I'd advise
against it, unless this guy has some kind of industrial sealer he puts over all
the grout that is cat pee proof. My mom remodeled her kitchen once. She had
fancy tiled countertops installed. They were BEAUTIFUL! She spilled coffee on
it... grout
Rough concrete is hard to clean, even when
sealed. Use a heavy-duty concrete floor PAINT. Roll it on thick, and do a few
coats, enough to smooth out the surface. MUCH easier to clean that way. That's
how most industrial plant floors are in the production rooms. You just hose it
down, and

Hi all,
I have a friend with lots of dogs with tile and she loves it too. I'm talking about glazed ceramic tile and using a dark colored grout. Definitely not white! lol. Also, if you keep the grout sealed properly it is supposed to be impenetrable. I never really thought about tiling. I wanted
Another option, instead of ripping out walls, and
using shower paneling, is to use horse stall wall mats. They are practically
indestructible, made to withstand urine and poop, and completely non-porous. My
biggest issue with any of it is the floor to wall seam. Caulk dries and peels
away
wet-dry vacuums work really well to clean up the water when you're
done washing, too

Good point. I have no idea. But I found a wonderful forum for questions like that with a lot of builders on it that I've been posting on for ideas for cat proofing my house.
It's www.gardenweb.com
I know it says garden, but they have forums just for flooring, walls, etc... anything to do with

Ha!
I know the people at Walmart wonder why I buy so many waterproof mattress
covers
I'm pretty handy around the house love do it yourself project. I've been reading up on laying tile and it doesn't seem all that hard. I think I'll give it a try. It might take my mind off Spanky.Staying busy all ways helps me. I'll let you know how it turns out. Sheila

sealing the concrete, as someone mentioned, is a MUST--otherwise,
EVERYTHING just soaks in and stays
what one friend of mine did was get rolled vinyl and ran it
wall-to-wall and UP the wall for 6 inches in every direction..
in the kitten pens at the sanctuary, they used the
Ceramic Tile. I tried the peel and stick kind in kitties room and that didn't work. My kitties like to stick there claws in the seams and pull them up.

What kind of tile? Vinyl tile?
Ceramic tile?
We used the self-stick vinyl tiles and that was
not a good choice. Not the cheap stuff either. Effie was such a
stinker she figured out how she could pee
