Hi Robin, I'm no expert but I'd think that what you have there is enough for a scarf. And especially if it's a lacey pattern. I have a shawl project currently on needles. This is no real thin lacey Orenburg fiber or pattern and the final product is 72" in diameter. It only takes 4 oz of fiber.
