The Polaroid 120 is made by Microtek, and is discontinued as a Polaroid
product to the best of my knowledge. If you are buying a new one make
sure there is still a warranty program for it. Otherwise, look at the
Microtek version. Or perhaps you are considering used ones.

Personally, I try to stay away from products that are so well hidden in
their contents to make them potentially dangerous if one ends up in an
emergency, because the MSDS is incomplete.
To get this back to scanningg, I'd love to try Kami fluid*, but minor
There are dozens of ethyl and methyl based compounds that can cause both

Most use high optical resolution flatbed scanners with some form of
transparency adapter to scan film formats 5x7 or larger since one often does
not really need resolutions greater than 1200 - 2400 ppi which many current
flatbed scanners can handle easily. Film scanners that can handle this size

Thus, in my opinion, in the past there were mailing lists and still may be
mailing lists for the drum scanners and the Imacons as well as for many of
the flatbed scanners that could be used. But as for an itemized list of all

Bert Quijalvo asked Was there a list (as a result of the discussion)

Hi James,
You are speaking of David Hemingway. Some time back, I tried to
reconnect with him, but have not been able to locate him. After he left
Polaroid he stopped communicating with me, so I have no news,
unfortunately. He has a common name and so trying to Google him isn't easy.

Art,
I would also be interested in locating and re-establishing contact with
David - especially concerning the Polaroid Film Recorder that I have and
how one might get or create new lookup files for it that are dedicated
to handling today's batch of films. However, I think that he dropped
