Negs and backlight

For years I've been shooting on slide film, then over the last few months I've changed to negative for all the usual reasons : ease of processing, more detail in shadows and highlights etc. But now I'm going back to Velvia! Why? backlight. I shoot allot against the light stuff, and the scans I get
