Yes, you need permission from the composers to include their works in
your portfolio. Anytime you make a copy of a copyrighted work, for
whatever purpose, you need to gain written permission.

As far as I can tell, choosing a different time signature for display
replaces note spacing with something that looks like time signature
spacing, although the mesure lengths stay the same. This seems to be
