Funny you would mention this...I was thinking over the problem as I was
on a plane today and it occured to me that maybe the procedure would be
that before hitting the MIDI note, arrow the cursor up or down so that
it is above or below the v1 note, depending on which way you want the
stem to go. Th

I remember someone saying that he would help me get it printing. I can
print from other applications; Finale is the only thing that gives an error.
Please help me, Obiwan.

Thanks for asking. We settled Friday, ending an uncertain situation that's
been threatening since November.
I'll refer anyone interested in the settlement to the musicians' website:

Right now that website consists only of a one-page account of the

Though it's not that difficult. While entering V2, the stem direction
will always follow the place of your cursor. If he's below the attaching
note of V1, the stems will go down, if above, they will go up. The stems
of V1 react accordingly: with cursor under, all V1 will push up, with

Has anyone experienced printing problems with Finale 2003a?
I'm currently using a beige G3 AIO, MacOS 9.2.1, with a HP LaserJet 4l
printer. Prior versions of Finale have never been a problem with my current
setup.
Any suggestions?

Surely not for a guitar player!

Hi Larry,
Hold down command and option, then the number key (1, 2, 3, or 4) for the

You can apply the slash-notation staff style to those parts where you
want the chord rhythm and leave the others as melody.
