A puzzle:
I used an existing file, created in WinFin2k3, emptied it, filled it with
new notes (easy because of same layout etc.). But now I cannot get a good
music spacing, as if Finale remembers the old notes, weird. So I decide to
copy all into a new file: Mass Mover > Select all > Copy > New fil
I am running WinFin2003 on much the same setup (XP, laptop, printer on
another machine via a network) without trouble. (That's to say, my list of
recent files within Finale does very irregular updates, Weird Behaviour with
capitals.) I've just ordered the 2004 upgrade, and I'll keep you posted.

In fact, it *is* a plugin -- TGTools does this, a
Dear all
Is it possible to make secondary beam breaks in a standard way for the whole
file, in stead of measure by measure? Sounds like a plug-in to me.

I'm sorry if I have not been clear. So let me explain again
I have two problems.
1) I have a file where Music Spacing does not work properly. It was a file I
saved under a new name, erased all the notes and put in new notes. So I
thought the erased notes could have something to do with this partic

Dear Chin-Chin
I'm on a different platform, working with a different language, but it might
of relevance to you anyway.
I work with Japanese texts in Finale2003, in WindowsXP-US. This is not easy.
WinXP-US is capable of creating Japanese characters, language kit installed,

I am looking for a way to edit recordings for cd's on my computer. So I will
need a way to get the data in from a DAT-recorder, and software to do the
actual editing. It will be for classical music: single track recording, no
sound manipulating needed, just cut-and-glue the good parts. I understand

Script is the magic word, font is of minor importance. Once within a text
block, choose font from the menu, choose Central European or whatever
appropriate script. In lyrics you'll have to do the same. Copy and Paste
from Word does not always work, to put it mildly. In the lyrics edit window

This has come up before, but I've never paid that much attention.
I have made a booklet with 24 Japanese songs with guitar accompaniments (CD

I've entered music in staff and mirrored it to a tab-staff. How do I edit
the mirrored staff? I do not want to change actual notes, just put notes on
different strings with the Simple Entry Tool.
I can copy, of course, but copying does not have the obvious advantages that
mirroring has.

I have XP-Professional, and love it for the easy with which I can type

Thank you for your hints. I'm a full week further, and have discovered more.
In general I'm pleased, so thank you for your testing work.

Finally, lute tablature has arrived with Finale 2003, I am glad with what
I've seen and used so far (two lute songs), but I am stuck with many
questions. Anyone out there with more experience or just good ideas?
Here's some immediate things that bug me:
