I have had this problem as well. I noticed it first with 2003. I
reported it to Mac Support then. Now I never quit until I have saved
and closed all files.

This is the Macintosh version of Finale 2003 running under OS 9.2.2.
All extensions (with the exception of OMS) are standard Apple system
extensions.
