You can get around the whole thing by doing something I heard our president do: he
used both pronunciations of the word in the same speech.
You will be right 50% of the time! (and wrong the other half.)

I get this all the time when I change platforms. Just keep hitting the yes button.
It will create a file called MacSymbolFonts.txt, that will sit in the folder. Your
file will look as it should in Finale.
I imagine if you said no to the pop-up window, then your notes would not look like
not
I don't remember older versions doing this
either. But you can turn it off from the
speedy menu. It is called playback. Also
know that if you turn this off and you drag a
note to a different pitch you wont hear it.
The only time you will hear the notes is
when you play them on your MIDI
