I had a score setup using Unity DS-1 software sampler for playback of 32
channels. This is an orchestration for a client who likes to hear the
project as it progresses, so I focus more than usual on playback. I use
expressions with patch changes for things like pizz., trem.,

In OMS Setup, go to Preferences (edit menu), and uncheck the box that says
"When AppleTalk is on, ask me about turning it off."
About the problem of QuickTime playback not working, I have had similar
isolated instances when setting up my new lab. I haven't figured out what
made it happe
I noticed that Jef is developing a new music font. I have been wondering
recently if anyone is developing a Unicode or OpenType music font. Seems
like the OpenType technology would be great for music fonts. Perhaps Coda
is working on an OpenType font based on Maestro??
