Is you score displaying at transposed pitch? If so, that's the reason. By default Bass Clarinet is set to appear in treble clef. If you want bass clef, go to Staff Tool and double click on the B Cl staff. Under Transposition, deselect Set to Clef... That should do it. John On 21 Oct 2005

But to answer the question, the most likely explanation is that the transposition is set to force the clef to treble clef. This kind of transposition allows clef changes to exist in concert pitch display but hides them in transposed display. It is intended primarily for bass/baritone instrument
