[Finale] One Paean to 2006b

2005-12-26 Thread Dean M. Estabrook
Though we've read of many problems with 2006b, I have found that editing parts (from a 2006 score) is much faster in the b version. The fact that the part opens without automatically loading all the GPO data is a help. And, for whatever reasons, the page margins are easier to deal with go

[Finale] Finale EPS graphics in MS Word

2005-12-26 Thread Chuck Israels
Hello all, I am working on a document (arranging book) with many Finale eps graphic inserts in MS Word, and they print well when I print the pages on my HP Laserwriter 5000N. (They look lame on screen, but they print fine.) However, when I send the file to others in Word, or convert it

[Finale] Best macro program?

Has any sort of consensus been reached concerning the best OSX macro program to use with Finale? I've seen the various pitfalls of Quickeys and iKey discussed here before but wasn't sure what if anything had been fixed or improved. I used Quickeys before OSX and have been doing without for a whil

I use Quark XPress (which is a bit pricy) and eps graphics are wonderful. I often save entire Finale pages as eps docs and they print like lightening. I often use an "expamples" page and use bits and pieces of it as needed with only one eps page as the source...all beautiful and fast. Quark is in

Well, if this is the answer, I probably have two choices: find a copy of Quark at the university that I can use, or leave things alone and let an editor/layout person worry about this later. I kind of hate to do a halfway job, but I also don't want to have to learn another program. I like

I actually use both (QuicKeys in the office and iKey at home), and they both do the trick. QuicKeys is better for programming multi-step macros, and it can even create macros that take user input while they run. iKey does just fine for menu selection and such, and multi-step macros work fine, but i

Hi Chuck, Did you use QuicKeys before OSX? If so, are there any significant differences between what you used before and the version you have now, good or bad? I'm also hoping to hear from Darcy and Hiro as to whether they're using iKey 1.xx or 2.xx. I know there was some disappointment with 2.
