In an effort to make my own editions of vocal music better, a friend
suggested I look at Barenreiter's Bach and Telemann editions.
I was bowled over with the elegance and roomy spacing, but I'm curious
if they typeset using computer software, or do they still
do that the old fashioned wa

series, all of them published within the last 4 years I think (there
are two vols of cantatas, one in particular with Advent cantatas).

I've been using this program the last year and the results are incredible.
Barenreiter have also been using Sibelius but apparently using an in house
font. The complete Bach cantata collection (the 19 volume set) has the newly
discovered aria included whic

Bray - Head of Publishing at Boosey and Hawkes has made it very clear on
numerous occasions that they are not going to abandon Score. The new CPE

Yes there has it's been a long time between versions but from the earliest
to the newest versions of Score the file format hasn't changed. Because
Score is basically a musical database each item has it's own para

You can do some nice stuff in Finale. I had an emergency engraving job
for a fellow composer -- 22 pages to do in about a week, including
parts. The whole deal took 87 hours. Long week.
Here are two pages ... all the notation conventions (including the
detached noteheads for harmonics) as well
