as soon as i finished typing that email i got nailed again. toggling
show staff names and even deselecting "show staff names" didn't make
the problem disappear. i rebooted and it is working fine.
i'm starting to wonder if it is possible

Do you have 'Show Staff Style Names' enabled? This whiteout issue is
currently something we are looking into, and it appears to be
related to this setting. Try the following:
- Select the Staff Tool

This is an annoying workaround that I use. Once you get the hang of it
you can set it up pretty fast, but it doesn't space correctly nor does
it alway copy/past correctly.
Turn beaming over rests ON. For the 16th note-rest-8th note pattern,

I looked at them once, and checked again after you asked. They use "old
printer" mentality -- that is, send in for a quote. In the days of Lulu, they
need to post their prices, maybe in a grid, maybe via a lit
Hi Steve,
You are right that they use Sib exclusively in the music engraving side of
their business.
For the on-demand music publishing, they accept "PDF, SCORE, Finale, Sibelius,
PageMaker, Word (!), and Excel (!!) files."
I unsubscribed from the Sib list a long time ago and I'm not sure it'

Hello Darcy,
The only reason I bring up Sib. is that the number of people who work with
them may be more Sib. driven and you may have better success posting the
question there since they claim to be using it "exclusively" (not sure how
being exclusive could be a marketing plus).

Hi Steve,
Sorry, should have been more clear -- I was asking about the digital printing
aspect of their business, not their engraving services.

Hi Ronald,
Thanks - I should have been more clear, I was asking only about printing,
binding, paper quality, delivery speed & reliability, etc. I know they also
offer in-house engraving, but that isn't a service I'd ever need or want from
them.
(Also, my understanding is that for the most par
I have seen many examples of their work. The printing and binding are very
good.
However, I have not been impressed with the quality of their engraving.

Sib.

Hi all,
So, I'm gathering the answer is "no"? This seems a bit surprising, as I have
been told that Subito are becoming fairly widely used as a print-on-demand
house for composers and publishers. I haven't seen their results first-hand,
but I think there are some orchestra librarians on this li

Yes, that's my experience as well (same configuration, 2K7 on XP).
