I installed Finale 2014 and started messing around and setting up my
default files and other templates. I still have many files that I'm working
on in 2012, and I'd like to continue working in 2012 until the project is
completed.
However, when I select the file in the Finder and
MUSX is a new file format only openable by 2014. You can export MUSX back to
MUS via the File menu

I would think so... Finale doesn't control what program opens what... That's in
the operating system. Finale will recommend itself to the OS, but the fact that

My understanding is that if 2012 is running and 2014, though installed,
is closed, double clicking a Finale file will open it in 2012. (If it
was created in 2014, it will simply not open, with a message to that
effect).
