Don't use the Ossia Tool. Put the kicks in a separate layer above staff, reduce
size, and use the "Hide Ledger Lines" plugin.

If you need to notate pitch you can possibly use layers and reduce notehead
size.

I'm trying to create a leadsheet for Benny Golson's Blues on My Mind, and
there are rhythm kicks integral to the song. I wanted to notate them above
the melody line as an ossia, but it seems as if I have to create a separate
ossia for each measure - very clunky. And when I tried to use the rhythm

These are DVI monitorss connected through passive Thunderbolt adapters.
I've had some other weirdness with them. (It turns out you can only connect
two that way.) This is the only think I can think of. I did discover that
another way to recover the window bar is to mess with the Display settings

Listers,
I am running Finale 2K11 on my MacBook Pro. My current OS is Snow
Leopard. (10.6.8)
Do I need to "de-authorize" Finale before upgrading to Mavericks, or
will Finale continue to be authorized?

Weird. It may be "feature" of my Thundebolt-connected DVI monitors. Who
know. Anyway I was able to work around the problem.

No, I'm talking about green maximize button in the upper left.

Not sure if I understand this. Do you mean the double arrow on the top right
of the window? That does disappear when maximized window is evoked but if you

Huh. It works fine for me...we are talking the button on the far right
of a window right?
The one on the left never covers the menu bar for my screens.

No not where the menu bar disappears. That's the whole problem. When I
click the "maximize" button on a window on a secondary screen, pre-14
versions of Finale increase the size of the window such that the window bar
is hidden by the menu bar.

You do know that if you do a Command-Period (.) it will go back. I'm assuming
you mean FULL screen where it makes the menu bar disappear.

One of the new features of Mac OS Mavericks is menu bars on every monitor.
I suppose I'll eventually get used to it and come to like it, but one of
the negative side effects is that every version of Finale before 2014 has
the problem that if you ever maximize a window on a secondary monitor, you

Would someone explain that to me and if I can fix it and how?
