dennis, thanks for sending. as far as i can tell the only thing the font is not displaying are diacritical letters... i thought maybe there was some confict with the system helvetica, but shouldn't be, they have different names. still perplexed...

The default page size chosen in the Setup Wizard is controlled by the Document Style. The default document style is “Engraved Style”: that’s the file you need to edit. If you have other page sizes you use regularly you can create other document styles, each with the page size, appropriate

Lawrence, I edited the pagesizes.txt file in the Resources folder, deleting all the US page sizes and putting A4 at the top of the list. Now every time I have to choose page size, in the Wizard or anywhere, A4 is always the default size. However, I'm using an old version, you may find
