Lawrence - Does this occur when you cut/paste passages from one instrument to another? As I recall, Fin25 came with “respect instrument ranges when copying or...” CHECKED.If that IS your problem, go to “Edit,” pull up “Preferences” and then “Edit” – and uncheck that box. Best - Les Mars

Hi Lawrence, This probably has something to do with the way the new Finale handles note entry at concert pitch instead of transposed pitch. For instance, bass violin notes now enter at their real pitches but get written an octave higher. Kind of confusing, but there are ways to set preference
