In my experience, the audio file gets saved WITH THE SAME NAME! as the Finale
file, including the .xmus extension! You probably don’t notice, because you hit
“Save” before closing and the audio gets overwritten with the actual .xmus
file. Save it with a different name, with a very short filename
Hi Glen,
Often I find the first "Export to Audio" command in FinMac2014d does nothing.
The file only appears after a second invocation.

Glen,
This sounds to me like what happens when there’s a forbidden character in the
file name. Do you by chance have a slash or a colon in the name of the file?

It may not have been created at all -- that's the issue. I had a
similar bug. It appeared to do something, gave no error message, but
created no file (if my memory is correct). I cannot remember exactly
how this was resolved, but we eventually found a combination of
parameters for the audio
Glen - can you do a *command F *to find out where the file has gone?

When I export file with Japanese file name, the same thing happened.
I hope that will help any.

I need to export a Finale file (2014d) to audio. I’ve got the file the way I
want it. I click on the menu item Export>Audio File. I’m taken to the finder
window to choose where I want the file saved. I save as an .aiff file. The
playback window runs through all the measures. And then … nothing.
Trying to export a score to audio I got an error message that says "an error

I run win7 64-bit on an AMD. I don't have any
of those issues with Finale. Ironically,
sometimes my machine *will* run really slowly for
unknown reasons - it will take *minutes* to open
a file, etc. At those times, my 6-core CPU is

I did some additional testing this evening with the System Monitor
turned on. There is no memory problem. It never pages at all, and
there is always more than 3GB available. It is the CPU that goes
through the roof.
I tried a moderately complicated score under several conditions. This
