I am a relatively new Finale User and to be honest have not read the manual
cover to cover. I also find that locating some info can be hard in the manual.

Is there any way that one can copy a part - say Violin 1 in layer 1

Choose show active layer only from the options menu and you will be able
to copy the contents of the selected layer without affecting other layers.
Just so happens we discussed this earlier this week in the thread how to
copy only content of level2 of a staff into level 2 of another
