Dear David,
I'm sure someone has mentioned this, but have you opened
Options/Program Options/Folders and then clicked opposite User
Manual, then located the user manual in the dialog box? When I run
Finale I get the user manual in the Help Menu. I'm on a Mac, so
things may be a little different
G'day
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions, which I have tried.
None of them worked, though some took quite a bit of my time uninstalling
and reinstalling to see if they would work.

When you look in the User Manual folder, are the files actually there?
Try changing the main folder name from Finale 2004a to Finale 2004 or be
sure the folder indicated for the User Manual actually has the "a" after
the Finale 2004.
It seems as if it's probably a minor discrepancy that is havi

Were you able to point the program to the new location of the .dlls
Did you manually change the folder name? In Windows it should be C:\Program
Files\Finale 2004\User Manual (without the "a" in 2004a). Try changing this
folder name and see if it works.
Thanks for your response, Brad.

Richard, thanks for your response.
The program is FinWin2004b, but the folder is still labelled Finale 2004a.
As I said, the program finds the other files, such as libraries.

Did you type this correctly? You have FinWin2004b in one folder and the user

Did you manually change the folder name? In Windows it should be C:\Program

I am still unable to access the User Manual from within Finale.
I reinstalled the program, and this time I turned off Zone Alarm and the
installation went more successfully. Last time, it "hung" and the Finale
icons, etc were not put into the Start menu.

How easy is it to reinstall the program. Is copy protection a consideration?
I am wondering if this might solve my problem. Would I have to deinstall the
update first?

It doesn't seem that that was the problem.
Thanks for trying.

G'day
I can't access the User manual in FinWin 2004b.
I get this message: Can't open Acrobat FinTOC.pdf
Anyone else have this happen?
I had an installation problem with both the original program of WinFin2004
and the updater: they both "hung" near the end of the installation.
I wonder if this wa
