instruments on the staves, I occasionally have a measure where one instrument
is completely at rest but the second is playing. Since I am using default
whole measure rests for the entire piece, I need to u
Two ways to do this. You can change to another layer and enter the
rest and then adjust it or you can enter a whole rest into the measure
using voice 2. All of this is done using the speedy entry frame.

Perhaps that is the root of the problem. I used simple entry to put the rest
in and it would simply disappear when I changed to speedy (to make the
vertical adjustment). I'll try entering the rest with speedy entry. I do
remember
receiving that error message a long time ago, in another score
In Simple Entry Options, remove the checkmark by "Check for Extra
Notes". You can now put in a whole note rest with Simple Entry and move
it vertically using the arrow keys, without having to change to Speedy.
