The only problem using EPS file is that if you make PDFs from the print
dialog they don't render correctly. I believe the workaround is to save as
PS and open that PS

I was also going to suggest that using EPS for this is not out of the question if you can revert back to an older version of FINALE to create the graphics needed and then just import them into your file. This is something you could use over and over again for other files provided you need the same

This is a common mistake with ossia measures: you are double-clicking
on the scratch staff to create the ossia, so it's getting attached to
this staff, and therefore getting hidden when the scratch staff is
hidden. You should double-click on a staff that will not be hidden,
then enter the numbe
