On further investigation it appears to be because I removed the word
"Violin" from the instrument names. I had them named simply "I" and "II"
(with a group called "Violins"). I was able to work around the problem by
adding the "Violin" back into the name as hidden text. Although it does not

Could it be that the violin patch on that staff is not the KS type (keyswitch)
which responds to HP commands like “pizz”? Check it in the Score Manager, and
load the correct one if necessary.
I have heard (though not experienced) that sometimes the pizz marking does not
register because it was
I have a file in which the violins refuse to play pizz (in Human Playback)
but the other strings do play pizz using the same expression. Anyone seen
this before?
Other files do not have this problem.
