Thanks to all who responded to this thread. Thanks to the kind efforts
of a list member who shall remain anonymous, I now have a version of
the original font that requires only substitution for the old--no
repositioning or resizing required.
So it looks like I'm OK.

I don't claim I know font in OSX, but font is recognized by fontID
instead of name in general.
