I unfortunately installed Apple's X11 v3 then spent 6 hrs downloading
xfree86 and associated files. When installing, an error came up saying
that it would not overwrite the files already placed by X11. I checked
a few web sites and all said to remove directories that are not on my
system.

I was able to fetch it just now (from telia.dl.sourceforge.net). Maybe
you need to change your sourceforge mirror (either with "fink configure"
or by editing /sw/etc/fink.conf).

Hi,
Can anyone help. I've tried running update-all several times over the

Seems like every time I do an "update all" I run into errors like this:
Any idea what's going on here? Thanks.

Hi all.
Has anyone else experienced considerable screen flicker when using XDarwin and system-xfree86 in full-screen mode? At the moment the desktop background is a dotted grey colour and flickers like crazy. Is there a way of changing the background?
One other question, there's a hint at MacOS

The default color scheme of Jed in rxvt is black background and black
cursor, which make editing almost impossible.
There are other schemes that works. The question is: how to set the
default one?

Thanks for your answer, Ben. However, that's not the problem. I source init.sh from X11

Thanks again in advance for your help.
Something strange happens to one of my computers. If I launch KDE from
xterm, once Apple's X11 has started up, I get a perfectly working KDE
3.1 desktop. However, if I want to get the KDE window manager to load,
instead of quartz-vm, and modify the .xinitr
