Would it be possible to just delete x11 from the applications folder,
then reinstall it again (The XFree86Complete-4.2-10.2 version from
OSXGNU.COM)? Would that effect the binaries downloaded via Fink (heck,
I can't find them, anyway)?

Do you have your Finder preferences set to Show Removable Media on your Desktop? That will put the "disk" on your desktop. Otherwise, you find it at the root level along with your harddrive icon and the Network icon.
