Thanks Alexander and Benjamin, It seems that there were a couple of issues that both of you saw. I removed the offending packages and ran into dependency issues again with 'sudo apt-get install guile guile-shlibs'. I ran apt-get -f install again and got guile installed. I'm trying to update qt3
