Did you download fink-0.23.9.tar.gz? What you downloaded is not a
Binary installer, and thus double clicking may not work. If you have
fink-0.23.9 in your Desktop, open Terminal (in
/Applications/Utilities) and type as follows:
1. sudo rm -Rf /sw # (This will ask your password)
2. cd ~/Desktop/f
Where is the "fink-0.23.9" folder suppose to be? every time i type a
command it says no directory.

Ok, I followed the instructions for 10.4, downloaded fink-0.23.9
untared it and run ./bootstrap.sh.
All seams to work fine. It ends with
"You should now have a working Fink installation in '/sw'. You still
need package descriptions if you want to compile packages yourself.
