Thanks Martin; I should have said I have everything updated. I followed the http://www.finkproject.org/download/ to the letter. I have Powerbook running 10.4.8 hence I used Fink 0.8.1 PowerPC installer. The Fink commander tells me my fink is 0.24.23.-3; I'm getting a little scared of fooling

[Fink-beginners] Having a missing version or fink-buildlock error when install KDE

I have looked in the mailing list archives and haven't been able to find an answer to my issue. I have a fresh install of Fink on a PowerMac G4 (500MHz) under 10.4.8 I started an install of kde (fink install bundle-kde) and half way through it my machine fell asleep. Now I get an error every time

I'm having a little bit of trouble running Fink from the Terminal (strangely enough, I'm having no problem via Fink Commander.) Two things have changed since I was able to successfully run Fink in the terminal; first, I switched to using the bash shell, and secondly, I installed Darwin Ports
