Okay, what finally worked was: fink rebuild debutils fink reinstall debutils It produced new mktemp, tempfile and other programs in /sw/sbin. Thanks, --Dan Whatever package tempfile is in (fileutils maybe?) needs to be rebuilt, and likely others, as well.

Right you are, I installed gnu-darwin on that "troubled" system and broke all sorts of things--the other system didn't have enough disk space for gnu-darwin (thank goodness). I thought that by reinstalling the OS and Developer Tools it would fix it, but it looks like there is still some problems. I

This is a strange one. I have two computers running fink. One never had a problem and the other is nothing but trouble. I recently reinstalled 10.2, added and updated the developer tools and updated the OS all the way to 10.2.3 and I still have problems. Like I said the other computer is running fi
