Hmmm... using a browser I went to ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/stable/latest/sources and what I see there is a bunch of files %n-%v.tar.gz, and no directories %n. On the other hand (and I didn't try this before) if I directly request %n/%n-%v.tar.gz using wget or curl, I do get the file. In
