Following Dan's email, I am having another stab at pango-cairo (starting from a working 10.5.2 fink unstable, and following the latest set of directions on the wiki). fink does not seem to locate gtk+2.0_2.12.8-1.diff.gz for the gtk+2 package, which is something I assume quite fundamental
