Fink has long supplied multiple versions of major languages, and even
older than OS X supplies ones to ease migration from older OS X
versions. However, keeping very old versions around forever is a
maintenance/testing pain, and newer versions of various modules for
the languages may not work at
We are not planning to continue providing the gnome1 widget and
application libraries after 10.5. Specifically, we expect to keep glib
and gtk+ but not gnome-libs. It's been over 6 years since gnome2 came
out and gnome3 is on the horizon and many other distros are also
dropping the long-obsoleted

Tutorial meticolously, and now an entry relating to my package does appear
