I would like to install fink on my iBook(in addition to my desktop),
but I have a slow connection and don't want to download everything
again. Can I just copy the /sw directory to my iBook? If so, how do
you copy to a networked computer from the command line?

Do you have a ~/.tcshrc, perhaps? Then put it in there, because .cshrc
is not used when .tcshrc exists.

If you do a "source /sw/bin/init.csh" from the terminal you can then do a
"sudo dselect" and, after putting in your admin password, have permission to
add and remove files.
Supposingly you're supposed to put the "source /sw/bin/init.csh" in your
.cshrc and it automatically runs when you bring up
type echo $PATH chances are that /sw/bin is not listed if this is the case
you are not sourcing /sw/bin/init.csh(sh) properly.
sudo /sw/bin/dselect will work kinda, but fix your sourcing of init.(c)sh

Exactly.
Per, you really really should run a "fink selfupdate" to get the
latest fink version

Hi All,
I was happy to learn about the Print command - first time I tried it with
OS10.1 I was able to print a ps file using an appletalk printer name, no
problem. However today:
[chem-dhcp-146:~/Documents] tom% Print -P PET keyes_reic.ps
ERROR: Unable to print.
Does anyone have any suggestions
Hi,
If you take a look at http://fink.sourceforge.net/bindist/source
you'll see that there is no file called
xfree86-snapshot-20010727.tar.gz

Why do I get this when I try to reinstall xfree?? ( "fink install xfree86"
)
