I'm not sure anti-aliasing is implemented in X11. Fonts are a
recurring pain for X11 and one of the reasons I bought a Mac.
It might be so that it has been fixed in later versions of XF

HTH,

I apologize if this has been covered - I haven't been following the
list as I should. In trying to run fink selfupdate-cvs to switch to
the new servers, it is going along swimmingly to what I believe
should be near the end, when I get the following error message:

Is there a way to determine the amount of disk space needed for a
package before attempting to install (using source fink, not dselect)?
Specifically the "bundle" packages?
Thanks,

This could be the root of all of your problems. The two projects just
aren't as compatible as one would wish. GNU-Darwin places a lot of
software in /usr/local and much of this conflicts with the build t

Alright I figured it out.
It seems that the file:
/sw/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/control
gets extracted using the first gzip that gets encountered in your path. I
removed the /sw/bin/gzip and re-ran the install and it worked.

How do I get this package reinstalled? It is one of the packages that has the
zero length files in /sw/bin.

Hello,
I just re-installed Fink (0.4) after a long while, and installed the binary
distribution and not the source one.
Everything went smoothly, and I updated the /sw/etc/apt/sources.list file to use
the new (EU) sourceforge download site. I then ran sudo dselect and got some

Hi there,
after a lot of trial and error I've solved the init.csh issue. I hope
this can help those of you that have this problem.
Let's start from the shell configuration. As suggested by Apple (read
