I just updated and got the new fink but I now have problems. What do i do now?
/usr/bin/sudo /sw/bin/fink selfupdate

I just got the same exact error, so it is not specific to his machine.

I just wrote to the fink-devel with a recipe how to get out of this. In
most cases, the following should work:
fink install fink-0.17.1-1
fink fetch fink-mirrors
fink install fink-mirrors

I find /usr/bin/fs_usage helpful. Thanks for the pointers to ktrace and
kdump.

One should probably also mention Apple's Activity Monitor from
/Applications/Utilities. It has an Inspect window whose
Statistics-Sample tool can also be very useful.

This should be fixed now, i updated it to 2.1 and removed an outdated
getopt patch which was causing the problem i suspect.
