Below is the script I added to ~/.xinitrc as my startup script. Other
techniques didn't seem to allow me to get window focus with the mouse,
so I couldn't close windows/apps. Try it.
#!/bin/sh
quartz-wm --only-proxy
source /sw/bin/init.sh
export KDEWM=kwin
/sw/bin/startkde /tmp/kde-$USER.log

Is there something I should rebuild that might fix this?
One thing to make sure is that you rebuilt xaw3d since you last changed
your X11. Same for libjpeg.
Note that I'm still running gs 6 because every time I tried
gs 8 I rapidly ran into situations where it doesn't work

OK, am rebuilding now. Do I need to rebuild xfig after that
Apologies, the not seeing xaw3d-1.5-8 was due to the
dists link still pointing to 10.2-gcc3.3 -- fink.conf was
correct, but the link had persisted. I think this means I
got the upgrade process right on my dual G4 at work, but
missed that step on my TiBook at home. Can't check because
G4 is stuck
Hi all,
I can't compile this package from source. I have attached the
proceedings from fink's log that I think contain the error to the end
of the message.
Thanks.

Ahhh! Because I upgraded from Jaguar a long time ago, and this must be
a relic.
I guess I can delete it safely?
Thanks.

Dear David,
I've encountered the same problem. I had to remove pcre (fink package of Perl
Compatible Regular Expressions Library) to install EMBOSS successfully.
Installing pcre after installing EMBOSS gave the same error, so it appears that
the latest version of EMBOSS is not compatible
