I encountered a similar problem. I wanted to install Gimp2, but it

I can't build scientificpython-py23 on my Tiger system. I see from the

So it seems that the previously installed libgettext3-dev is
obviously deselected in the gimp2 install process although it is
needed later on. I could install gimp by installing every package
dependent on libgettext3-dev, e.g. gtk+2, individually right after
installing/selecting

Hi i am using Fink to install ultimately MonoDevelop however i am
getting stuck when it comes to install Mono - it is trying to install
mono 1.1.7-21. No matter what i try it always without fail fails with
the following message:
MONO_PATH=../../class/lib/net_1_1_bootstrap:$MONO_PATH
I prefer to use the installation of Apache that ships with Mac OS X.
How do I add Fink's path to Apache (or the entire OS generally) so it
can access Fink-installed apps like ImageMagick?
Thanks.

You can try
export DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib
before you 'fink install mono'. Once mono is installed you can edit
/sw/etc/mono/config and tell it where libc.dylib really is (ie
/usr/lib).

Okay, I finally figured it out by playing

I'm running Tiger 10.4.2 on an ibook and had upgraded from 10.3. I
had a working fink installation from 10.3 and followed the
suggestions on the fink homepage to update.
First I tried fink selfupdate, got the error message about GCC v4.0 so
ran the /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl
In searching for a solution I found that I need to edit the
Distribution line in /sw/etc/fink.conf, (from Distribution: 10.3)
to read: Distribution: 10.4-transitional.
I found this information here http://forums.macosxhints.com/
