I had assumed that you had checked them out yourself from CVS and were
commenting about the lack of a finkinfo directory
The Trees: line of fink.conf just tells fink the base paths to search.
If there's no finkinfo directory _somewhere_ in those, fink won't take
note of any packages in them.
Hello,
on my unstable 10.3 I get this error:

I do not see any .info or .patch files in crypto. Where are these
files located?

Plplot failed to build w/ gcc4.3 installed. Here is build log:
plplot_octave.cc:5701: warning: 'print_usage' is deprecated (declared
at /sw/include/octave-3.0.0/octave/defun-int.h:38)
g++ -bundle -bundle_loader /sw/bin/octave-3.0.0 -o plplot_octave.oct
plplot_octave.o -L../../src/.libs -lplpl
I have in tree /local/pangocairo /local/pangociro/crypto in fink.conf.
When I do fink selfupdate and i check /sw/fink/dists/local/pangocairo/
crypto I do nor see a finkinfo directory. So no packages are being
directed to gnome for instance. What do I have to tell fink to set
this up?

So, i went to update fink on my wife's Intel machine [it hasn't been
updated in a LONG time]. Anyway, i stumbled into a problem with
trackballs apparently needing the guile-1.8 executable [i have the
1.6 executable and shlibs for both]:
/bin/sh ./config.status --recheck
running CONF

Trying to install Wine from Fink, but it fails compiling. Curious if its
something I¹ve broken or are others having this problem:
Vitals:
OSX 10.5.2
Xquartz 2.1.4
Latest version of fink with unstable enabled. Did self-update and update
all before I tried to install wine. Here¹s a snippet from
