But before I got it to work, it failed due to a missing /sw/bin/gdcmdump.

gdcm24 should have had a Depends on it, yeah. Install the "gdcm" main
package too--that's another missing depen

It says that it is "archived" under Fink Commander. Does that mean it is failing
to ensure that it is installed in its Depends somewhere?
