Has anybody gotten the latest evolution (1.5) to run? I keep getting
a failure in the final configuration stage (when running evolution
and answering the prompts for email address, etc). This gets reported
to Apple (nice dialog box):

I updated octave and octave-forge recently to the latest experimental
distributions. Upon trying to plot, I now get the following error:
>> plot(1,1)
grplot: Cannot start xmgrace
grplot:No grace subprocess
It seems the default plotting is no longer to gnuplot. How do I get it
back to that `defau

I updated to Panther, and now am trying to update fink. However, to
update fink, I need to install the August 2003 developer update. When
doing that, I get the following error message:
August2003gccUpdater cannot be installed on this computer.
Mac OS X version 10.2 and the December 2002 Develop
I just installed python 2.3. I haven't had it on my machine (through
fink) since my old machine about 6 mo ago. I recall then that idle
worked, but now it doesn't. I'm getting the response
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/sw/bin/idle", line 3, in ?
from idlelib.PyShell import main
I'm trying to get a cvs server running on my machine (and admittedly
know nothing about cvs yet, but can't learn without a working install).
I need it installed as a server, so I'm trying to install cvsup.
However, cvsup requires cm3, but cm3-dev won't build. The results crash
and burn as below
I just got a new computer and installed Apple's xfree86 from scratch.
Then, when trying to install system-xfree86, the installation failed

dpkg -i

I have Python and tcltk installed (both fink), but they don't talk
(can't run idle). How do I make python talk to tcltk?
Thanks,
Joe
