without hesitation that I installed the Apple X11 SDK package. I knew
that was necessary from past experiences. Whether or not that install

Please don't shout. Did Fink actually _install_ XFree86, or did it
just build or download a version and fail to install it? If you run
"fink list -i xfree86",
