If you build your application with specific version of provider, it's
not problem that in GAC is other version. You can have unlimited
number of FirebirdClient in GAC (

Using Fb 1.5, 2.1 , VS 2005, 2008, IbExpert.
I'm deploying updates for my applications as installer for exe's and patches
for database.
The installer contains and deploy the same 'old'
FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient.dll 682 KB (698,880 bytes) in same
directory as my exe's.
