Because it is not a real error. CORE-4964 hides errors caused by failing

security database. Some of them were fixed in post releases.

I use FB 2.5,
The server has a 150 GB HD and it has 20 GB free.
My database is about 800MB in size.
Do you think having 20GB of free disk space may be a problem? I'm experiencing
a very bad performance lately and I can't figure out what can it be.

No.Problem is drive's speed and badly designed application that you use.

To extend this answer i can only say that you have long running transaction.
Look at your last active and next. Go to mon$transaction and look which
transaction is so old
