We had exactly that type of crud go through some of our herd. Our horses in
our lower pasture got it too and the only common carrier between the animals
was me. Separate feed/hay and water supply from the first sick horses.

Hi Frank & Tammy,
I totally agree with you. I do not start my Fjords until they are at
least three. They need time to grow up just like kids do. Before they
are 3, their attention span is fairly short. They may be big enough to
ride etc,

The next issue is the horse. I suspect that both of us working with your 3
year old might overload her(?) brain. Maybe the other horse, if that is a
possibility. Can I do a weekend lease?
Thanks for reaching out to me. I am recovering fro

I had Barbara Frake do a sketch of my big horse Charlie from snap shots and
it is beautiful. He has a sleepy impish eye and she got it. I am very
pleased with her work so if you have a favorite pet like Peg's goat or even

Mary I was trying the Brer Rabbit molasses and this is not a fjord but
Charley. He is too much thoroughbred and not enough warm blood. But he
gobbles the smzs down in his senior horse

Hi Carol I sent in a long letter detailing the little guys trip back to
health. He is just a teensy bit irritable and I think blames me for those
shots. I continue to watch him closely but all seems well except my big boy

I agree, if Peg kisses the horses she must also kiss the goat. This is
simply a matter of animal rights, and if she is not careful she is going to
have PETA on her case. So, pucker up Peg, and don't forget to post a picture
on your web site!

Of course she should kiss the goat - I immediately wrote and told her to go
ahead - I give my "goat girls" a little smooch now and then :) And, I WILL
kiss the babies :):):) They will arrive in one month - YIPEE!! I have
"nannie jammies" for them if it

Hi Karen!
My dentist does use the speculum! I just left out that part. The head
holding isn't hard for Bob, dentist, just for me if I had to do it! :-) Bob
has been our dentist for about 4 years now and comes twice a year. He has

The vet did my fjords wolf teeth with anesthesia. The dentist just does the
fine points and they don't need anesthesia for that because they are such
good girls.

In OR an equine dentist must be licensed & can only practice under direct
supervision of DVM. The 1 I saw used a speculum that was tied from above
in the exam stall at vet office. If drugs were needed they were
administered by vet. Vet was ther
