I have no trouble getting horses to drink even when it is -40 here: I have an
insulated water tank with a sinking heater which is thermostat controlled. so
water
is never really cold. They drink fine, even more when they are getting extra
hay

outside mouth with active sleigh season. Almost like a Pelham (?) snaffle in
English riding. Has three shank choices of which we use the don't run off

I use Vaseline in the corners of my horses mouths every day and never have
cracks or rubs but don't use driving bits. Do driving bits have bit guards like
some of the hunter people use?
Robin where it went from 38 to 50 in about an hour

I believe he just needs to be desensitized to the falling snow. :-) When we
ride in the woods, one behind the other, the first person grabs a branch

Hi all
Please pray and send healing vibes out for my boy Titan. He is in route to the
hospital. Colic yesterday, was tubed and oiled. Still sick now. Shaking,
grinding teeth, no gut noises, no eating or drinking.
I am very scared!

Please keep us posted. That said, I have had horses that were in visibly
bad shape that recovered with intravenous fluids only. Did they do a

And it IS difficult to do a lot of sleighing if you're not in a position
to find or create groomed trails. Like Phil, I've certainly got enough winter,
but the public roads are my driving venue and the county isn't interested in

Hang in there Kim! Sad that he is sick, but you are smart to take it to the
next level. Now a days they can use a lot of tests to determine if surgery is
needed. Keep us posted if possible.
Take care!

You'd have to ask Phil to be sure but I was under the impression that
Smedsmo was the last name of the breeder of his really wonderful stallion.
Still, it probably has a literal meaning too. I just don't know what that is.
