I certainly agree...I don't like obese fjords. I keep mine pretty happy
feeding them several small meals a day, about 6 times when I am at home. A
major hay feeding at 6:00 am, a mid morning hay snack, A noon feeding

is to select lower quality hay, so they can eat as much as
they want. High fiber (NDF > 55) restricts intake by

I have found several ways to use round &/or large bales and keep my fjords
looking great.
First of all my younger horses are allowed all they want of high quality hay

Free feeding a fjord? One fjord here, before he was bought by my friend,
was kept with several appaloosa types where they free fed round bales. He
became terribly obese, lost any hint of "waistline", looked like a huge
saus

Speaking of keeping Fjords at home, I know there was a discussion a while
