Another thought: Pour a little vegetable oil on the water: then larvae cannot
breath!
vegetable oil such as Canola or corn oil will not be toxic to the horses.

Replace the water once a week. Or at least let it overflow good. That
also helps to control the slime that can make the water taste bad. --DeeAnna

We have had three-ten cent goldfish in our stock tank for about four years
now. They were about an inch long when we got them and they are each well
over five inches now. They eat their fill of mosquito larve and whatever else
happens
