[Flexradio] Help with Microham Band Decoder

2006-04-01 Thread Neal Campbell K3NC
Hi! I am trying to connect my microHAM band decoder to my SDR-1000 so it can switch antennas, provide c-iv data for my IC-PW1, etc. I also am a digital operator so need to properly send band data to MixW, etc. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Thanks es 73 Neal k3nc

2006-04-01 Thread Ken Klein
Dave; I don't know if this is your problem, but I've had similar things happen due to very high SWR at the antenna. I know that the ATU advertises that it will tune 10:1, but if the reactance is too high, it won't come close to that. See if you have the same problem on frequencies that you know

Re: [Flexradio] TX Echo

2006-04-01 Thread Mike Naruta
Hi Brian, Reports of echo often come from RFI. Because of the delay inherent in the processing it appears as echo instead of the much faster feedback. There's lots of gain available with the SDR-1000. For my station, I clamped ferrite around every lead going into and out of my PC, and also the

Brian, I've had a similar problem when I had a lot of feedline radiation back into the shack (running too much power into a poorly resonated antenna using a tuner.) With RF in the shack, somehow it gets back into the radio and causes the echo. The fix for me was the same (trim back the mic gain

Brian, I have that occasionally, and reseating the 3.5 mm connectors on the SDR cures it. Tom W0IVJ Brian Fredrickson wrote: I have recently been receiving reports of a slight echo on my tx signal. I can reduce the problem by turning off the leveler and winding back the microphone audio

[Flexradio] TX Echo

2006-04-01 Thread Brian Fredrickson
I have recently been receiving reports of a slight echo on my tx signal. I can reduce the problem by turning off the leveler and winding back the microphone audio gain. The problem with winding back the audio gain is of course that it reduces my power output. Echo comes into play at the -25

That was my point. It was really bad ten years ago (dynamic range) and the fiber installs, etc. were prohibitive, especially if you were in a nontechnically savvy part of the world. According to these docs they have > 100dB of dynamic range now are are "affordable". Bob Jim Lux wrote: At
